When i make turbo cider i do,

1gal DJ
3.5L apple juice
1kg sugar
1tsp tanning
1tsp glycerene
1tsp Nutrient
1tsp yeast

i top up to 5L with apple juice after fermentation to sweeten and take up excess room in DJ.

i am about to step up the brew to 18L is there anything i am missing that will make the brew better, i am happy with what i get now but if there is a way to make it better i would be happy to try it in a DJ before going big

To be honest i have ONLY done 23l batches in a fermenting bin.

I dont add sugar anymore. Just juice, 4 teabags and a cup of hot water for tannin, and yeast. I only add 18l of juice for first few days then top up after.

I then add 75g of sweetener to sweeten up after racking to secondary... i like a sweeter cider of course...
