Just saw this and thinking of possibly buying. I was going to use the controller I made myself but this one has a thermostat which mine doesn't.

Any good?

Also does anyone know if Brew UK is open to the public or is it just internet based as |I am not far and was thinking of popping up there. I have emailed them and left an answer phone message asking but they haven't got back to me.

Also check out the 308s which has a detachable probe, the advantages of which being:

Easy to replace if it gets broken.
If you need to move the unit about you can leave the probe threaded though wherever you put it and use a second probe elsewhere.
Different sized probes are available [2" and 12" I think.]

Costs about the same [in fact Amazon have the 308s slightly cheaper than the 308 you linked to]. I have one of each because I got the 308 first, had I got a 308s I'd have just the one unit and probably three probes.

Yeah I’ve got the “s” with the 12” probe. I stick the probe in the FV during fermentation instead of taping it to the side.

Yes that's the one I bought with the 12 inch probe as thought it would be good for both the fermenting bin and also the water heater for mash that I am making.
