Kind of agree - I've got a decent sound bar in my lounge which improves the TV speaker which is all I wanted . But I've also got a man cave cinema which I have 5.1 - that's where I watch the decent blu ray movies for decent cinema sound

I built up a decent 5.1 set-up over the last 15 years..I say decent but audiophile types would call it budget....probably £1k in total...apart from upgrading the av receiver/amp thing when the old one broke, the biggest difference I noticed was when my cheap £100 subwoofer bit the dust and I bought a £250 Gale one (this is several years ago), and the quality of sound that comes out of that is great...not just rumbles and thumps but quite a bit up the bass frequency range.

I connected my TV up to an Ipod speaker dock, which although not great is 100% better than the TV speakers.
The major difference is the bass, which was non-existant in the TV, makes movies sound so much better.
