Hi all.
I love pale ales and fancy making some after recently.
Making some vodka/alcotec kit. Which type/brand makes has anyone had success with please.
Keith

I quite enjoyed Ritchies simply pale ale brewed to instruction with 1kg brew enhancer. Very drinkable beer.

I agree with the Ritches Simply IPA or the Coopers APA with some hop additions to dry hop...this always turns out great. Always use enhancer or spray malt if you want a richer feeling beer.

St peters do some nice 2 can kits :

Or the Youngs American range :

I did the American pale ale and it was the cats swingers

I'v also brewed this and it was fine :

If your gonna go with a one can kit then used Spray malt or liquid malt instead of sugar, then you'l find that you may as well for the extra couple of quid just buy a 2 can kit.

Now I want a beer and its only half 6

Making a Young's Pale Ale at the moment after being very pleased with their Amber Ale. Would recommend Young's, not the cheapest but everything is included.

There's normally three main sorts of pale ales commonly available in the UK which you may or may not appreciate.
In short...
The standard British 'pale ale' is very similar to a bitter.
There's the English IPA which is a heavily hopped highish ABV beer.
These usually use 'traditional' British type hops,
And then there's the American type Pale Ales and American India Pale Ales which usually use American hops and have recently become very popular.
They are all different.
If you want to know more try this

If you can tell us more exactly what you like, we can be more specific about what might suit your tastes. That said you might come back and tell us you like them all!

Thanks all for your replies.
Im going for a youngs american. For my first try. Does it self carbonate or do i have to add things before bottling?

The kit will have everything u need.
Great instructions too with these kits.
Just follow the guidelines on the FG before you add the dry hops. Basically leave the beer alone until it reaches (or close as) the recommended 1.007.
Don't rush this one ☺

Good choice, my first brew was the Youngs APA and I'm currently drinking the Youngs AIPA. Out of the two I'd say that the APA slightly edges it imo

I too will soon be able to make that comparison as I have both on the go! Just checked the gravity...one at 1010 one at 1008..both dry hopped.
