New series BBC1 Friday 9pm, i do not find many "comedies" on the TV funny but Count Arthur is brilliant.

Count Arthur's House of Horrors New series. Eternally optimistic ex-variety star Arthur Strong is enlisted to rid a haunted house of its demonic occupants. However, his bid requires spending an evening in the problematic property. Comedy, starring Steve Delaney and Rory Kinnear

For those that haven't got a clue what i am on about watch the video below.

I love Count Arthur Strong, but on the radio. I think the problem is that when you get to know something on the radio first (which I did with CAS), you build up images in your mind and then when you see it on TV, it's never the same.

Great character though - will still give it a go on Friday.

I agree i first heard CAS on the radio and seeing him on TV was not the same however i think the show is brilliant and am looking forward to the new series.

This wouldnt work on the radio

He reminds me of Harry Worth, a sitcom from the 60s, similar bumbling character where everything goes wrong. Wouldn't be surprised if that is where they nicked this from, even looks similar!

Anyone remember the opening scene where he stood against the window and lifted his arm and leg?

Love Count Arthur, but prefer his radio show. Seen him at the theatre twice - hilarious. !!!
For some inexplicable reason, SWMBO can't stand him! :hmm:

His book is hilarious.
