Shed extension next to house the increasing stock! :D

no stuey.. :nono: .
i cant have more sheds i got 3 now :D
ill just have to make room for my honda in one of the other sheds...

but it would mean its a lot harder for me to get it in or out...
thats the only reason its still in there at the moment...:(

regards mick... :hat:

ok i stopped putting it off any longer...
i found a bit of board put some bits on it ...
so i could use it as a ramp...
then i cleared out my shed then put the honda in there ...
freeing up more space in the beer store... :)

I bought a load of ginger and did 10L of gingerbeer the had some left over to change the recipe learning from my first batch... But have been distracted resently and when Came round to having a spare demijohn this is what I found to my horror! At first I thought it was something eating my ginger!!

 thanks have just done that
I like the idea of a free supply of fresh ginger!

Thanks for the link!!
I never thought it was so easy to grow ginger

Hi Mick,
I've just mixed up a batch using your recipe, I've halved the amounts as I'm only using 10 ltr FV's.

I added my yeast, waited 15-20mins then took a hydrometer reading which only measured 500, is this ok or have I went wrong somewhere..

Any advice would be appreciated, cheers :thumb:

Hey Mick :D

Followed this thread closely..another brew added to the list

Saw your last post about the taste difference in other batches; could it be that the ginger is being harvested from different plants so some of the roots are weaker in general "gingeriness" than others? In making the beer you have added both normal ginger and maybe some not quite as powerful?

It's either that or you have drunk enough of the beer to be immune

Mick
I have been looking through stuff on Ginger Beer. The other reason for lack of oomph in your recent product could be the boiling process. If you look back a few pages, gl0kage says that boiling reduces the power of the Ginger....So, a slightly more vigorous time on the stove may be the cause you are looking for.
