Evening All,

Just chilling a Galaxy SMASH at the mo and added a nice handful when the boil was turned off.

What's the opinion ? Start to chill immeadiately or let them sit in the hot wort for a while ?

I've done what I consider to be a 'steep' taking the temp down to around 80 degrees then adding the hops. With flame-out hops, however, is the idea to chill straight away ?

Cheers

ps - galaxy on the boil smells devine :D

taking the temp to below 80 then steeping your aroma hops will maximise the flavour and aroma you get.
After 20 mins continue to chill as normal. getting the temp down as quickly as possible is good, unless you have the brew sealed in something like a cube.
I also let the wort rest then for 10 15 mins before running it off to the fermenter.

yup as above
when wart gets to 80C add em by the time its down to pitching temps i wait for 18C alls done
or wait at least 15/ 20mins if you can cool quickly
