Just been in and picked a couple of 1 can kits up for around 70p.

Got a Coopers Ginger Beer (68p) and a Youngs Brewbuddy Lager (70p). They are best before March/May 2016 but for 70 pence I couldn't resist. Had a few others in the Brew Buddy range, all sub £1.

My advice is to get back there and buy some more.

The Best Before time for malt extract is pretty meaningless. If the cans weren't damaged and they smelled okay when I opened them I would have no hesitation in using them; but I would buy a new sachet of yeast for each brew!

Also, take a look at this site on how to enhance the one-can kits.

I'm pretty amazed that Tesco in Glasgow had home-brew that went out of date though.
