Do you honestly think an increased threat level would have prevented this attack, or reduced the casualty numbers? The attackers are reported as having been shot dead within 8 minutes of the first 999 call - short of having armed police on every street corner I don't know how much faster could the response have been, and if we ever get to point where we're policed like that this tiny number of nutcases have won.

I'm not sure what we the public are supposed to do with the information about the different threat levels, start looking at brown geezers with beards increasingly suspiciously as the threat level goes up? If your the type to report suspicious behavour to the police, you'll do this anyway no matter what the threat level. These threat levels are only really useful for security services.

This was was said before, 3000 suspects on the list , so start by getting rid of those, Then NO more muslim entry to the UK. Monitor activity at Mosques and Muslim schools, make it Illegal to preach in the streets. Start putting severe penalties on offenders. Have a undercover muslim police section (will they do this ????) and deport all clerics and soap box Muslims spitting bile at the UK while living here and claiming a living from the social. Investigate into what these families are taking free from our system. Eating from our table sleeping in our beds and hating and plotting to kill us at the same time , evil form of Hypocrisy. Search all muslim houses, If they having nothing to hide they have nothing to fear.

Just focusing on this. There's a little thing called privacy. Have you got any curtains in your house?
You cannot kick every person of any religion out of a country because a miniscule amount are radicalised and do evil things the same as you cannot bomb a whole county and wipe out innocent people as well as giilty just because a few are terrorists.
RIP to all the victims. Work on Park Street just behind Borough Market so feels very real. Hopefully pop into The Rake when it reopens to have a glass in memory to those we've lost.

Get rid of them to where? All of the recent attackers have been British born and raised. Don't start with the "country of their parents / grandparents" nonsense as you know that's not how it works. And no more Muslim entry to the UK - again, the attackers were born and raised here. Search all Muslim houses??? We've got this far in the thread without Godwin's law being broken, let's not ruin things, eh?

Mrs May's response this morning was destined to sound strong but actually promised nothing. "Enough is enough, we must be stronger in response" She gave no indication of what stronger is and in any case WHY was she not stronger in the last 7 years during which time the security level has been severe. If ever there was a time for "something to be done" it was then
She also suggested tackling extremism by convincing these extremists to adopt British values, that should be fairly easy then, I would like to watch that discussion take place.
These just sound like empty words designed to show her as a strong leader, if there is nothing she can actually do now then don't say it.
Still no hardline response from inside the Muslim community ..why will they not declare an official fatwa against the terrorists?

if JC was the current PM which he soon hopes to be the platitudes would be exactly the same,there is no easy soloution the damage was done way back under Bush senior and Americas insistence on being the worlds policeman with us hanging on to their coat tails JC was absoloutley right for once in hanging the present troubles on that score even though the media didn't like it

I totally accept and understand that but at the moment SHE is the serving PM and also the person whose remit for the last 7 years was to tackle extremism/terrorism and NOW she declares that something must be done?
I am not saying it is easy to "do something" but that is what she is now saying she will do when she has had ample opportunity to actually "do it"over the past 2 parliaments.
