Hi,

I'm Chopper a nickname I got at school as I share the same surname as a one time notorious football player, at one time some of the lads started calling me Rolf but thankfully Chopper was the one that stuck!

I've been brewing for a while, I have an old laundry boiler and I mash in the fermenting bucket with a mashing bag. I wrap the bucket in off cuts of carpet to keep the heat in and it works OK.

I always do roughly the same recipe, 8lbs of pale malt, 1.5lbs of crystal. I'm not awfully accurate as I just use a scoop which holds about half a pound of malt but it seems to make decent beer. I put 1 oz of target in a the start of the boil and 2 oz of fuggles about 15 minutes from the end. I'm looking to expand my range and learn about different hops. Just waiting for the weather to cool down so I can brew again.

Cheers
Chopper
