It feel like ages ago I started this project, but with a bit of time off over xmas I made some solid progress.

I've tried to keep costs down, but build a safe, solid, all grain rig.

I'm using stainless kegs and stainless fittings as much as possible. I've welded 1/2 BSP connectors directly to the kegs wherever possible.

I'm using;
4kw element in both the Boil and HLT.
2.5mm Hi temp immersion heater wiring 25 Amp,
32 Amp blue sockets,
2.5mm 6491X Wire for inside control box 24 Amp,
three pin aero connectors for temp gauge > control box
3x Rex X100
Sestos controller (I have the wrong one)
a bunch of switches and led's bought for not much more than a £1 each
12v solar pumps

Still quite a bit more to do.
the boil and HLT are complete, as well as the HERMS.

Fantastic.! I'd love to tackle something like this one day. Is it all from your own knowledge, or are there instruction guides out there?

Thanks!

I roughly based it around the electric brewery. http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/ there are instructions on their site that walk you through the build.

The keg polishing was surprisingly easy! I bought a single dronco flapping disk for the angle grinder and spent about 20 mins per keg.

a little more progress..

I've moved to new digs in Newark, so things are taking a little longer than usual.

will hopefully be gettting the first brew on soon!

If you don't want to answer no problem - how much do you reckon it cost to put your control panel together? As I said, no worries if you don't want to say.

not that much.

the box itself was the most expensive single part, although I found it on eBay for £20. it was new old stock.

Most of the components were ordered on AliExpress from china.

switches were about £1.50 each, the same for the LED's.
PID + SSR were about £10
heatsinks £2
emergency stop & power key were £2 each
volts/amp display £5
2.5mm high temp three core was £10 (for power to control panel and to heater elements)
aviation connectors for pumps and PID temp guages £2 x 5
12v dc power supply £5
12 red+black cable £5
240v 25amp blue + brown cable for internal wiring £5
100 spade connectors £2
zip ties £1
connector blocks £4

I think thats most things!

not much more than £100 all in.
