Got this on on weds.

5litre water botlle, no rinse sanitiser, shakey shaken.
4 litres lidl "simply" apple juice.
500ml water with 6 tea bags left while I prepared everything else.
1 teaspoon allinson dried active yeast.

Disgusting looking krausen after 24 hours. Has now fallen back in and its fizzing away nicely.

Was that bakers yeast?
if so it may not stand the alcohol and not finish low enough.

Ive used it for 2 fruit meads which finished over 10%, granted they took a long time to ferment out! fingers crossed, and if it doesn't work Ive only lost £2.40 on the juice

Bottled this today. Had to clear it with finings, which is a ball ache it a sample tasted fine.

Next turbo went on as well:

2l princes apple juice - £1
3l Morrison's red garpe and berries juice - £2
1 teaspoon tannin £1.99 for big tub
1 teaspoon youjngs dried active yeast/ £1.75 for big tub

Like I say I've made 2 meads with that yeast, both delicious.
Moved on to Young's wine yeast for the new brew though
