Just noticed this when looking them up for another thread on equipment.
Nisbets are currently offering white Hygiplas thermometers at ã4.99 instead of the usual ã14.99. I use these for both my brewing and charcuterie, and they're accurate and good value at the full price, so ã4.99 is a snip.
Don't worry about the fact that they state for 'bakery and dairy'. That's purely because they're white, which is a standard kitchen colour for those items to prevent contamination across different uses. The other colours are all full price.
They're good to 300 degrees C, and if you go over that you might have scorched the wort.
