Hey,

I'm considering using Isinglass for the first time in my brews, but was wondering when the best time to add it is... Am I right in saying it should be added after primary fermentation, but before priming?

Thanks.

Thanks guys... So does using isinglass have an affect on priming, i.e. will it take longer to produce some fizz given that the isinglass has removed the majority of the yeast?

What is this? Is it something to help clear beer?

Sorry - being lazy here, could probably google this very quickly.

Finings (isinglass is one possible fining agent) clear beer, they do this by attracting the tiny particles suspended in the beer until enough accumulate to fall out of suspension and settle to the bottom of the fermenter.

I don't think they clear any yeast from the beer, at least not in significant amounts, so the secondary fermentation is not affected, and carbonation is not compromised :thumb:
