I'm about to make a Russian imperial stout, with a larger amount of chocolate, amber and black malt if pH is too acidic in the mash tun can I add gypsum to the mash? Or am I worrying over nothing?

If anyone was wondering there was no need for gypsum to be added pH was in the right range in the end.
every brew i make i add the additives to the mash tun every time, beer turns out spot on, dont know if its the 'proper' way but it works for me

mash pH depends a lot on the water you are using, so if you do not have a water analysis report (or you're not using bottled water with detailed info on the label) then it's impossible to say what will happen to the pH and whether or not to use additives and if so, in what amounts. Trial and error seems to be the way with these things and if it works for you, keep doing it. It is of course good to make an educated guess at first.
