I've used them before, you'll need to go nuts on them for a very noticable aroma. Be careful with the bittering hops, high aa% means you can make it much more bitter than you intended to...
 
As Rob said you do need a load and to add them late.

I did an APA with a mixture of 6 malts and boiled for 90mins adding the Amarillo AA 10.7% at, 15mins 57g 30IBU, 5mins 85g 18IBU and 1min 28g 1IBU, it came out lovely :thumb:
 
I'm drinking this at the moment and it is very nice....

More than one malt but the hopping may be of use

4.00 kilograms Pale Malt, Maris Otter - Crisp
0.50 kilograms Pilsner (2 Row) Ger
0.40 kilograms Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L
0.20 kilograms Wheat, Flaked

Hops
5.00 grams Amarillo 11.2% @ 60 minutes
20.00 grams Amarillo 11.2% @ 20 minutes
40.00 grams Amarillo 11.2% @ 10 minutes
40.00 grams Amarillo 11.2% @ 2 minutes
30.00 grams Amarillo 11.2% @ Dry Hop
