Swansea used to be a good place to source home brew supplys, since I haven't brewed for a couple of years it seems the old sources have dried up :(
I tried Abertawe Homebrew, complete waste of time, haven't even got yeast in stock! when I asked If they had a refill for an S30 cylinder I got the same answer as when I asked when they would be having beer kits in as the shelves are bare - out of stock and the supplier hasn't got back to them, they only order in bulk you see
I went looking for Specialist Homebrew in Gorseinon but they seem to have dissappeared too!
So apart from Wilko and on-line suppliers any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :D

Nope not many about. I have used Abertawe Homebrew but that was before it changed hands. Buy my stuff from wilko, TESCO or online.

i'm in south wales too and homebrew shops are "****" thank god for ebay. I have sent for stuff from aberaeron home brew and it arrived very fast, good stock too. where are you exactly?

looks like your restricted to the big stores then, wilkinsons, tesco, the range, morrisons, and some asda's. there is a home brew shop in Barry, but i've never been there. I'm in Nantymoel and i have to use ebay a lot, postage is a killer.....

I use a few online company's and use wilko/tesco when I need to. Postage is a killer at times but worth it to make my own beer

Have you ever brewed Wilko's Hoppy Copper, I had one in the sale for 8 quid but after reading reviews i've decided to alter it a bit, just wondered if you've tried it and what it was like?

I've not visited any decent homebrew shops near Cardiff (maybe I just haven't found one). I tend to buy equipment from ebay or amazon. But, I get ingredients from the Otley brewery in Cilfynydd. Very good prices and it never hurts to get to know people 'living the home brewer's dream'. I'm under the impression that most of the small breweries are more than happy to sell ingredients to homebrewers. Are there any closer to you guys?

Not exactly your local is it? I sometimes cycle down the taff trail from work. I always stick my head in to Otley to say hi, then to the Bunch of Grapes for a No7.

Someone told me that there is a homebrew shop in Pontypridd but I haven't tried to find it.

There is a wholefoods shop that also sell some homebrew items. Run by an old gent. He ordered malic acid just for me

The homebrewcrew shop in Roath used to be quite good. Very small but handy. It just vanished over night and turned into an accountants office. I remember being very confused one day while trying to find where the heck the shop had gone.

I did a tour of the Celt brewery in Caerphilly last month and they told me that they also sell supplies to homebrewers. BUT they haven't replied to a single email about it yet.

There a cracking shop in Blackwood and Steve the owner is always very helpful and knowledgeable. He is more than happy to spend some time with to talk things through. I live near Swansea and it worth the trip over to see him. If we don't support these local shops then they be all gone.
