08/10/17
Early up...
The gf set up last nite.
By the time I get back taking our lass to work should be on it!! Lol
An idea from David Heath YouTube vid.
A amaretto/hazelnut Broon ale (23l)
As usual the final essence maybe be changed!
Seat of my pants approach once again....
Recipe and all the good info to follow!
Looking back at using essence..this time not getting the crap on the net! (Floated like oil on water,if you know what I mean!)
But still spirits from the HB’ing shop.
First time using amomatic (is the word!!) Malt
Oat husks to help the sparge!!
All in all, getting the stocks up for Xmas and getting Kris into the loop of our HB’ing is good skills...
Hope he’will pop ova for a visit!
Recipe soon!

Like I said “seat of my pants” approach!
Do you think I’ve got 46g of ekg? Naaa!! Only 19g (good stock taking Brian!)
So I’ll use this and add 27g of cennternual (never get that word right!)
EKG is 6.8% DP hops, and centennial is 7.8%
No big shakes tbh!
In to the mash out!

Half bottled half kegged...
Took ages for the testing of the essence!!
Could say first time for years I’ve bottled whilst supping!!

Morning all,
Well been a while since I put a proposed recipe on...more Like after the brew day or during it.
One I fancied is a clone of little horror of hops- a rye ipa.
So far at looking at the bottles and gleaming as much info as I can.
They saying 5.9%...60 IBU’s about 1.057.
Rye malt
Maris Otter
Crystal (I’ve lookin at 60L)
Carafoam-(flaked Barley instead)
Apollo
Bravo
Cascade
Centennial
Using US 05...coz I like it!
Going to be a 10l batch.
Usual Irish moss n all that!
60 min boil
Haven’t decided a stepped mash schedule or not.
N no dry hops.
So far
5.9% Abv
60.1 IBU’s

As always! Tinkering and changes last minute is what I do!! Lol
Thx for viewing
