Hi,

Soon, I’ll be making a choice regarding my 3 vessel electric brewery.

Which boil kettle: Blichmann G2 or SS Brewtech?

- I don’t need the sight glass; it will be fine with or without it.
- I don’t need the thermometer (that comes with Blichmann G2); I’ll be using external PT100 probes.
- I can afford the Blichmann G2, but don’t mind saving money on SS Brewtech.

I’m worried about sidewall shunting when mashing, I know Blichmann’s design is superior when it comes to that (stepped bottom), but is SS Brewtech boil kettle + SS Brewtech false bottom that much different?

I'd would go with SS Brewtech. Both products are great but You mentioned a mashtun as well and in that case I think the insulated SS mashtun would be better at retaining mash temp. And SS is less expensive overall

Forgot to mention that it’s going to be a HERMS system. I have looked at the insulated SS Brewtech, but don’t think I need it.
