hi new user, introducing myself  i have probably done 15-20 brews as per instructions and looking to experiment a little, what happens if i use a little extra yeast and sugar at the start of a 3kg kit, does it increase the ABV? how do you increase ABV? Are 3 Kg kits better than 1.5 kg ? i have enjoyed the 3 Kg more personally but anyway Hi! :thumb:

Welcome.
Extra sugar will up the ABV, extra yeast won't make any difference - first thing it does is grow more of itself anyway

Welcome to the forum

Adding extra yeast shouldn't impact the final ABV, it may quicken the fermentation though.

Adding extra sugar certainly will increase ABV. But will thin out the beer without adding any body or flavour / mouthfeel.

Instead of sugar, consider using dried or liquid malt extract.

But if you're doing 2 Can kits (which are generally considered better quality) then I wouldn't mess too much. You may upset the bitterness profile intended for the beer.

If you reallllyyy want to experiment, get into all grain brewing ;)
