Hi lads
Has anyone ever added lactose to a brew for added body and sweetness?
I'm about to start my second batch of ginger beer, as per 'rickthebrew's' recipe.
My first one was extremely thin, even more so than pure water if that's possible, and also unpalatably dry.
I've read that lactose powder can help with both these issues but I've no idea how much to use in a 23l brew. Opinions on google contradict each other (as usual) so I'm hoping someone with experience can give me a starting point.
If you haven't brewed ginger beer then perhaps you've used lactose in something else? I just need some idea of the amount of sweetness and body it will impart.
As always grateful for any advice.
