Thinking 20g Amirillo for a start!
I'll dry hop it after racking on Thursday.
Just about finished the black IPA..tbh the dry hopping is the way ahead..
I don't care for much bittering, as long as the brew is balanced out!
Think you or somebody said can't go wrong with about 42 IBU's.
So that's what I try to get the happy medium.
Learning about hops experiments and what the do my understanding is went up ten fold
Still want to experiment with different yeasts...
My journey is bright!
Just enjoying all the processes together..Seems years since I just threw a kit in a FV, pitched the yeast...bottled it...and thought it was just ok!
Now every phase, process I make sure it's 100%...nowt wrong with wanted to be perfect..keeps me in the game so to speak!
As long as I feel there plenty to learn about...
thx

Hopping stouts seems to be an American thing. The GH recipe calls for Amarillo in line with your levels. Doubt it will be anything short of memorable.

Not used this hop myself, as it seems rather pricey and there are just so many beers to brew.

As it is nearly summer, how about, for instance, single hop pale ales (see GH book) like:
Green Bullet
Cascade
First Gold
Sandy
U know I'm easy! lol
Green bullet have to look at this one..
Tbh I really liking the pale ales, IPA are getting my second fav..

Green Bullet is a New Zealand hop that clibit was very much in favour of when he posted here. I made 2 beers with GB in using a single 100g bag about a year or so ago. They were very good - both used Herkules as a bittering hop and one was just GB for flavour / aroma and the other was GB and WGV.

The HBC were clearing out some stocks of hops not long ago and I basically bought up about 6-9 months supply one evening, including 2x GB pellets and I am keen to get them used.

As GB is a high alpha hop, at 12.2%, it would be very good in a Single Hop Ale brew. The Greg Hughes methodology would call for about 80g in a 23L full length batch.

Quite interesting!
Green bullet! I like this one.
Now to look at buying it.
As always a 10l batch experiment
Pale ale, 60 min mash 60 min boil GB @ 60 mins...
12.2% wow!
Now getting the cobwebs out of my brain..

Are we getting a refund for our contribution to the cost of building the EU parliament... God only knows how much the bureaucrats swindled out of that.

I know the feeling. It's been four weeks since I brewed but I've done some bottling, racked a couple of DJs onto different fruits and the like. But the little experimentation isn't enough to make up for wanting to brew again properly!
