Please can someone experienced look over this recipe? It's not meant to be a copy of anything, I've put it together from a brewferm gregorius and ideas from the excellent 'Brew like a Monk'. Having never done this before I'm worried it might be horribly wrong and am currently baffled by ibu and ebc calculations.

For 10 litres.
1125g extra light dme
200g amber dme
150g dark dme
100g sugar
150g dark candy syrup

11 litres of water boiled for 40 mins
100g northern brewer added at start of boil
50g saaz added with candy syrup 10 mins from end

Wyeast 3787 pitched at 20º, let temp rise, possibly repitch late on

Thanks in advance!

Hi , i just put figures in , way too many hops ibu should be between 18 and 26 , if northern had aa% of 8.5 as in software then it would be around 180 ibu lol just with northern any who i adjusted them and also got rid of cane sugar (candy if by far better) and added more amber malt . If it was me i would also get some biscuit malt , use around 150g , soak for 30 mins in water at 68c and it will give your brew a nice creamy taste and head etc , nice in belgians , have fun.

Brilliant, thanks. I thought the hops might be pretty off, I basically weighed all the ingredients in the brewferm box but struggled with them as I didn't want to open the bag before using it then found the weight was totally different afterwards as it had soaked up loads of malt. Anyway, I think I'll try without the biscuit first to keep it simple then try it in a new batch later on. Thanks again, I'll post how it goes.

Sorry this is really old but just wanted to say thanks for the help, it worked out great!
