Well, I have decided, after about a 2 year hiatus, to get back into this hobby.

I have a half dozen or so AG brews under my belt, all of them rather drinkable, but as this willl be my first outing in some time I'm looking for something pretty straightforward, not to mention tasty, to brew.

So... Do any of you have any reccomendations ? I have a few requirements that I'd like to meet if possible :

Straightforward AG brew
IPA / Hoppy style nothing too dark or porters etc.
Ready to drink quickly (I will, for the first time, be kegging this rather than bottling )

I have a supply of grains / hops but I'll be stocking up on tuesday so anything I dont have I'll pick up then.

TIA

Go for SMASH beer. Single Malt And Single Hop.

Something like this for a 23l batch:

4.5kg Marris Otter malt and 100 of Cascade Hops using us-05 yeast.

30g of Cascade for 60 minutes
20g of Cascade for 5 minutes
25g of Cascade at flameout (leave for 20 minutes)
25g of Cascada to dry hop for 4 days after fermentation is complete.

Somewhere in the region of 4.5 - 5% ABV and 30 IBU's.

Thanks...I did a SMASH before (MO + Citra) and turned out a nice summer beer.

A couple of suppliers now do AG kits for when you next need grain etc. Pick a style, order it and in a few days it lands on your doorstep. No more 'what can I brew with the leftovers' scenario!

I'm a big fan of the uber hoppy american styles just now.... but key is being good from my first corny (ordered today!) and conditioning quickly

Thanks Clibit!

Thats looks like a good website and excellent resource!

I'm going to give the smash a try.... And rather excitingly the first parts turned up today for my keg set-up
