I have recently pressed my apple inthe back yard, put them into two 5 gallon fermenting bins and into one plastic demijohn. I added campden tablets to kill the **** as i dont trust the natural yeasts to work for me.
I then added the yeast and bunged it with cotton wool to start with. The two fermenting bins are going wel adn there is a large like foam ontop and now i added an air lock and there are a lot of bubbles.
The demijoh though, although i can see a small amount of fizzing on the surface and can hear it, there is nothing like the amount of foam as the others, if any, and there are no bubble in the air lock. It pushes the water, and i can see and hear the fizzing but thats it.
Ay reason? Is it knackered or can it be salvaed??

If you can see and hear it fizzing then I am sure all is well....probably an air leak hence no bubbles in the air lock.

Get a hydrometer if you haven't got one so you can monitor the fermentation ;)
