I'm using Wyeast 1968 for the first time.

I'm coming to the end of primary fermentation and the manufacturers recommend a diacetyl rest.

Any thoughts on how long for before transferring to secondary?

I presume it's just a case of leaving it in the FV for a length of time?

I would guess about a week or possibly two, yes leave it in primary so the yeast can do its thing and get rid of the diacetyl. Though some is nice in the right sort of beer. Just had some pale rider last night packed with lively butterscotch mmmmmmmmmm.

A diacetyl rest is usually done for 2-3 days. Basically you need to leave it at 20-21c for a few days and then transfere to a secondry to drop clear before bottling or kegging. I usually say a week for fermentation 2 for diacetyl rest and 5days to clear.
