Just bought 5 1000ml mason jars for 99p each at B&M Bargains today. They sell for at least double or treble this elsewhere.

I bought 5 but wish I had got more. I'm ill at the moment otherwise I would go back tomorrow to stock up.

What do you use these for?? Look good..

They are good sturdy thick glass jars. You could make yeast starters etc in them I guess but I use them for pickling (onions beetroot etc) and jams/jellys mainly.

They are basically canning jars, so anything you use a tin can for (food wise) you can use these jars for too.

The lids have a rubber gasket on them that seals the jar tightly when filled with hot liquids etc. If used this way rather than simply as a storage jar the central parts of the lids go on like the lid of a can be replaced once used for sealing (the rims of the jar come away completely once the jar is sealed and are reusable).
