Well, I’ve bin an gon an dun it!
1st day in the garden this year, apart from the hop beds needing weeding, I noticed the crowns had started budding.
So, taking a hand fork and a sharp knife, I proceeded to de-weed and dig up the horizontal roots/rhizomes.
My hops are now entering their third season and this is the first time I’ve looked for rhizomes, needless to say I hadn’t got a clue to what I was doing.
I ended up with some quite fat tuber like things (rhizomes?) which I’ve put in plastic, sealable freezer bags, with wet kitchen towel, and stored in the garage.
I will examine, cut and count them tomorrow.
I feel that I have had a lot from the Forum, so my way of putting something back, is to offer them free to any members who wish to take pot luck!
They are Goldings, Fuggles and Brambling Cross.

yes please if possible would love some goldings and fruggle please.. pretty please

heh heh good man EV!

Looks like you'll be queuing up at the post office quite a bit!

I must check mine if yours are starting to bud!

I have now washed, chopped (butchered) and counted.
Brambling X – 44 pieces
Fuggles – 24 pieces
Goldings – 35 pieces

Please PM me your postal addresses + your requirements.
There will be no charge and no guarantee that they will grow!

Suggest you plant in pots till they show signs of life, Mch/Apr.
Transplant outside, too big for a greenhouse!
