Having watched some home brewers videos, can anyone enlighten me as to the purpose of 6 inches or so of piping on the tap please?

mine doesn't suck unless it's on there :thumb:

Sorry Rob, forgive me for not being clear, that was my fault. I meant to say that the pipe is fitted to the bottom of the tap on the exterior of the keg, seemingly reaching the bottom of the glass to be filled.

My apologies indeed........

Are you talking about a little bottler?

No Joey, I'm not. It's a bit of plastic pipe that I have seen in use (you tube vids) approx 15 or 16mm bore stuck on the bottom of the tap, long enough to reach the bottom of the glass.

Could it be to reduce the size of the head on the beer as it's poured?
