40l batch

6kg pale malt
1.2kg crystal
400g wheat malt
80g carafa 3

Hop schedule is yet to be confirmed but will have chinook, citra and cascade.

And as an experiment I'm posting this using tapatalk.

First runnings in the boiler and the first lot of sparge water is added

I quite like this tapatalk lark, there's no running to the computer to sort the photo's out. It's all done on the phone in real time.

Last of the sparge water going in, now I can unplug the PID and power up the second boiler element.

Exellent post, really interesting and loving all the pics.
You make it look very easy.

Hop porn.
I'm not adding any until an hour into the boil. Then it's

60m 20g chinook
75m 30g chinook
80m 50g citra
85m 50g citra
Then 100g citra, 75g of homegrown cascade and the last 10g in the packet of chinook for an 80 degree steep.

Thanks Andy, nice to know someone's watching and that you're finding it useful. It's not that hard really!

I like the look of all the shiny stuff. I must stop looking at all that I'll get ideas above my station (and income!)

Regarding the protofloc granules. I just chuck mine into the boil 10 minutes from the end. Is there a benefit of hydrating them first or do we have a different type?
