Hi there,

I am thinking to use up my leftover Citra and Cascade hops in a 3-hop pale ale, using both as aroma hops. I was considering bittering with Centennial. However I only have 40g each of cascade and citra so was thinking something like:

Centennial 30g at start of boil
Centennial 30g 15 mins before switch off
Cascade/Citra 20g each at switch off
Cascade/Citra 20g each dry hop (4-5 days)

Anyone got any suggestions or opinions here? Should I add Centennial later as well?

Cheers,

Allan

I think it sounds like a nice pleasant pale ale with some good hop character. Looks like a good recipe.

OK so I now have all the ingredients and will brew this at the weekend, my "final" recipe is something like:

grain bill:

5kg pale malt
250g amber malt (melanoid)
250g crystal (caramel 150)
250g torrified wheat

Hops:
Centennial 30g at start of boil
Centennial 30g 15 mins before switch off (plus 1tsp protofloc)
Cascade/Citra 20g each at switch off
Cascade/Citra 20g each dry hop (4-5 days)

Hoping for a similar hoppy, fruity taste as my cascade/citra spring ale but with some additional sweetness, malty body.
