Hi guys I was looking at the rims tube on homebrew builder and I am just wondering what I need to connect the element to the tube. Also anyone's experience with this setup would be nice to know about.

Hi

I have the rims tube - you will beed his 3kw uld element - you will need to wire the element youself which is fairly easy - it is 3kw which is 13.04 amps - this could be pluged into a normal socket but make sure nothing else is pluggged into the same double socket or it will get hot :-) also i would recomend 2.5mm 3 core flex and crimp on lugs
by the way I am an electrician and although some people will say tou can use 1.5mm flex I feel that 2.5mm flex is more suitable and less likely to heat up

I hope this helps

Chris

Thanks Chris. How does the heater attach to the rims tube do I need to order a piece or does it fit into he clamp?
Also what are you running the heater with a PID?
