I just can't seem to start a brew before 3:00pm for some reason... The boiler is boiling and I'm doughing in around 4:30p! Today, it's:
4kg Pale
200g Crystal
54g Goldings (90)
25g Fuggles (60)
25g Bobek (15)
Protafloc at 15
Safale S-04

As usual, pics and tales of woe to come!
 
Caught the bug, can't stop now! Mash is on so I'm kicking back for a bit. Got much closer to the mash temp I wanted; doughed in at 67.7 and my MT loses barely one degree over 90 minutes so I should be dead on at 66 before I sparge. Sparge temp was low last time so I'm cranking the boiler way up this time.

My first AG brew is climbing out of the FV!

What I did recently with my Hoegaarden type thing was to mash in the evening, then boil the following day.
Worked a treat!

I think getting my volumes sorted and slowing my sparge rate has helped my efficiency a lot. Biggest issue I have still is maintaining a temperature using my propane burner. I got some Northdown hops yesterday so I'm really looking forward to AG#3... I think I'm gonna need more FV's if I keep going at this rate!

Muddy Funker, in retrospect, I should have done just that. I went for a 60 minute boil when I really should have gone the full 90 to utilise all three hop types. Good advice that!

now thats a good idea :thumb: what do the beer gods think??? cant think of a reason not, but then i am still on "L" plates :oops:
