im about to do a mini mash with coopers English bitter, plus added grains and hops, but what wanted to know is, is it alright to use the coopers yeast that comes with it plus half a packet of safale o4. or would this effect my beer in a bad way.
any advice is truly appreciated.

cheers andy

It'll affect it but not necessarily in a bad way. You'll just get a bit of the profile of each in the finished beer, the profile depending on which flavour or quantity of each yeast is dominant. IMO opinion you're better off pitching the correct amount even if you use two different yeasts as opposed to under-pitching... unless you're aiming for a specific recipe in which case you might want to get more of the 'correct' yeast.

You *might* get a bit of the profile of each in the finished beer. It could well be the case that one strain is far more aggressive than the other and obliterates it during the growth phase.
