I know, Minimise the risks, work in a clean dust free, still environment, put everything within reach, don't move around. . . . And you'll still get infections :twisted: but by taking simple precautions you can reduce that risk . . . not eliminate but reduce ;)

Some of the best results I've ever seen (micro wise) were with turbulent flow, as opposed to linear flow, beit horizontal or vertical :wha:

I'm glad we don't concentrate on it so much in homebrewing :whistle: :lol:
 
Many thanks for your “How to” MEB, it gave me the idea for yeast from pints from pubs.
I just walked in with a litre pet and ask for a pint of “carry out”.
My first was from a pint of “Greene King Abbot”.
Followed your basic method, but just added the whole pint (SG considered).
Aerated etc manually and after about 2½ - 3 days “Rocky Head”.
It’s now in a brew that’s just about ready for casking.
The second is from a pint of “Timothy Taylor Landlord”.
This was started yesterday, so I’m waiting for it to spring into life!
