can anyone reccomend a supplier?

i just had a quote from AandH for £380 for just a 2 meter long 51mm OD stainless footrail with two domed encaps and 3 cantilever arms! **faints**

Block and Quayle do shiny metal tubing, I think I would be tempted to fettle something out of that rather than pay over the odds for something to rest your foot on.

Great idea though, bars without one do annoy me, I need one now........

that tube is exactly the same stuff AnH were charging 65.21 per meter for!!!

great find mate :thumb:

just need some endcaps and cantilevered brackets and i be a rockin'

Another alternative is to find a Blacksmith, go with all your measurements and you may even find some metal there that will give your bar a different feel, but equally cool. Cast iron for example, or whatever suits you. I went to a blacksmith to get a luggage rack made for my trike (years ago). It had to be easy to fix, look the business cos the trike was a head-turner, and be weather/rough treatment resistant. They were a very reasonable price, friendly, quick, did a good job and i got a custom-made part that was the business.

The thieving barstewards, that is just a plain rip off 60 odd quid per M, we are pricing a stainless stairs with walnut steps and landings for somone at the moment (must be a secret brewer) and the hand rail support brackets would be perfect for the job and i can get you end caps. We are pricing the job tomorrow so I'll find out the spec and cost, that is if you have not already sorted the job.

nope. not sorted it so i'd be VERY interested mate

my bar length is 1265mm from edge to edge. i dont want it to overshoot that as i want to be able to butt it sideways against walls in this (and future) house(s), so an overall length of 1200 should allow for skirting boards etc

cheers :thumb:

fantastic mate... looking forward to it

now all i want is some 100mm overall diameter half circle shaped wooden architrave to go around the top of the bar to rest your arms on!

i might make some circular shaped timber framing up and use several layers of thin, but hard grade balsa wood and bend it over the frame for that though.

tubby_shaw, your link to bar-fittings.com is winning so far :D

just had a quote...

1200mm of chrome piping - £19.20
flat chrome end caps - £5.50 each (i need two)
chrome cantilever brackets - £24 each (i need two, or maybe three to be sure)

so that comes to £78.20 (£89.93 inc VAT) plus postage if i can get away with two brackets :thumb:

they've sent me a brochure in the post so i can see what they look like ;)

This will be a whole weekend of shiny drooling, download the catalogue Here on page 34 and 35 or somwhere around there is what your after and I can get a part like 252103 for 50mm tube with a 60mm triple screw back plate for around a tenner, July 08 Prices, there must be a supplier in the UK also.
Hope that helps. mmmmmnnn SHINY
Bru

Bru, they look awesome... but :( a 64mm protrusion from the wall/bar seems terribly small... you'd only get your toe on it!

i had the bar fittings brochure come through yesterday and that is bar porn at it's best.

this needs some further consideration methinks :hmm:
