I've found it useful to find some similar but cheaper less popular hops.
Both geterbrewed and the homebrew company are selling 1kg packs of pellets, price depends on variety.
The homebrew company also had some older more obscure leaf hops from ã1.40 per 100g.
Unless you know you LOVE a certain hop or always want to bitter with it, a kilo is a large amount to buy as you are starting out (probably more than 10 23litre brews with it heavily featured).
Enjoy being "hop single" and play the field and experimenting a bit.

https://www.brewstore.co.uk/ is selling some old 2012 hops for half price, still doesn't work out dirt cheap though.
Styrian cascade 21.77 for 1KG is pretty good going.. per 100 gram but tbh I wouldn't buy that much of a single hop myself unless I loved it and was going to make reems of the stuff
