So I made a Scottish heavy a while back and took 4.5 litres and added 1 oak aging stick that was soaked in 100mls rum and put it in demijohn for. 2 days

I'm now doing a 18 litre batch so 4x the amount , so do i just add 4 aging stick thags been in 400mls of rum or is it not as simple as that to get same taste, mine was almost identical to the innis and gunn oaked rum ale

if the 1 stick worked then the 4x should work for the 4 x larger batch too.

afaik the problems with oak flavouring and beer are more common with barrel/cask packaging where the smaller vessel provides a far too high surface area for exposure for the volume contained.
