Raisins in cider

Ive got a DJ with cider in it to which i added some raisins about 18 days ago the airlock is bubbling about once every 30 secs now, are the raisins meant to sink?? and is it ok to rack this off into another DJ and remove the raisins??
 
basically if you leave them whole the co2 bubbles keep them afloat. Its immaterial either way

But is there as much benefit in adding them and leaving them whole? Compared to chopping/mashing?
 
its easier.... :D

the yeasts will find the sugars whatever, if whole allow an extra day.
