Hi

I'm planning my next brew for my dad and he wants a stout. So Guinness extra out of the gw book has anybody tried it and whst was the outcome. And it will be my first biab so no pressure.

Any advise would be great.

Cheers steve

I made this about 2 years ago and while I am not a habitual stout drinker I was surprised how close it was following GW's recipe, exactly as written.

I put it in a king Keg and it survived a few months still faithful to the end to the original Guinness taste.

I currently have this fermenting with the addition of porridge oats to make an oatmeal stout. Took a sample for the hydrometer yesterday and it tasted pretty good.
