Hi I'm planning on brewing a porter soon and would like some feedback on my recipe please.

20 litre batch
1.057 OG (based on 70%BHE)
1.014 FG
32 IBU
49 EBC

4kg Maris otter
500g crystal 60 EBC
250g biscuit malt
250g chocolate malt
250g wheat malt

15g Cluster 60 mins
20g Cluster 30 mins
20g Cluster 15 mins
20g Cluster 0 mins

A choice of either S-04 or Nottingham yeast

Any feedback on this would be much appreciated as I've never brewed a porter before, thanks :thumb:

Looks good to me, I made a Fuller's London Porter Clone and I can't remember using any Crystal !

Fullers uses crystal and brown malt. I'd be inclined to add some brown malt, between 10 and 20 %. But that's me.Porter originally was made with brown malt. and I think it suits the style based on what I have tasted and the couple of brews I've made with it.

Yeah I think you're right, it should def have some brown in it. Unfortunately I dint have any to hand and the lhb shop doesn't stock it.
Ok so it's probably not technically a porter then, but will it be any good :wha:

Hey there are plenty of porters around with no brown malt in them. Be good to do both and then you can compare. Next time!
