I made this a few months back. Has anyone else tried it? If you like the kernel export India porter give it a go. By far and away the best beer I've made.

Thanks. I'm planning a winter porter/stout hybrid. made one last year with pale malt, choc malt, torrefied wheat, . turned out fine. quite dry and malty. used admiral hops. thinking of a twist this year but cant make up my mind....

I was looking for inspiration for my second and third AG batches, and this is it. I've tried the Kernel EIP and loved it, so I'll get this ordered this evening...

Just did this and put it in the FV this afternoon - brewday went entirely to plan, overshot the FG by 5 points so it's likely to up around .5% ABV higher than planned. Woe is me, obviously. Best smelling of the three AG brews I've done by far - can't wait to taste it in the New Year.

I've got the recipe for the kernel EIP in a book if you ever want it?

That's a very kind offer and is much appreciated, but I think I probably have the same recipe already - the Craft Brew 50 book that has the grain bill and a hop profile without actually giving the hops used (as they regularly use different types? If you have a recipe that has a detailed hop breakdown I'd love to see it, otherwise I'll see how this one comes out and tweak the hopping based on the results. I was surprised that this has such a high late addition but no dry hops - maybe next time I'll add some dry as well.

That's the one I have, I think it does recommend bramling cross as an option?

Nope, just gives the addition times and AA percentage recommended to get the bitterness right but advises to try messing around with hop combinations. The version I've got is an ebook that I acquired online so the print version may be different.

I've definitely got bramling cross from sonewhere. It's on my to brew list so I'll post how it turns out when I get round to doing it.

Thanks for posting. I'm going to scale this Malt Miller recipe for my next 1 gallon batch. Would be interesting to see The Kernel recipe too for comparison, if it's handy.
