I did a brew last Sunday, just a simple pale and used a pack of Mangrove Jacks M44 yeast. While it was fermenting there was what looked like a white mass suspended in the beer.

I presumed this was just proteins etc that had got in and would drop. It has all dropped and SP is now 1010. I dry hopped last night and had a taste. It had a sharp bitterness and a slight 'chemical' taste

I will leave it to dry hop for 5 days, keg it and see what happens.

Do you reckon I have picked up and infection, or yeast was bad etc?

Lots of variables, take a picture of it. Also closer inspection if it has little roots growing from it, could be!

I should of taken pictures. Its all dropped down now. It kind of looked like porridge.
I clean everything with PBW and rinse. All buckets etc get the same treatment, plus star san after rinsing. This will be my first ever infection / failure though.

I've found M44 to have a very "dirty" fermentation. Give it two weeks and it'll clean up after itself.
