I've recently started baking my own bread, and after having a few problems getting the bread to rise I decided to rehydrate the yeast like I do when I'm brewing beer. Both times I've done this the loaf has risen perfectly, I'm just wondering whether anyone has done t :thumb:

I make quite a bit of bread. I always rehydrate the dried yeast with a half teaspoon of sugar and very slightly warm water - give it a whisk and as soon as bubbles appear its starting to work. Dried yeast straight into flour can take an age to start!!
Even better save some yeast from a brew and whack this in - I brew AG and use a handfull of spent grain plus some yeast and beer to make a lovely loaf
