Great question!

Mine that i'd put forward are:

Thirst Gold

WezErection

As soon as I have got a bach of stout done i'll be brewing a WezErection probably around Easter time ready for early Summer :thumb:

If I had to put one of mine forward it would have to be my Not A Pale Rider recipe that I put together last summer . . . When I brew it again though there will be more bittering hops, this is nice but it just needs a tad more bitterness. Some people thought it was OK though

And From MuddyDisco it would have to be Harvest Pale Awesome Brew.
I can certainly recommend Pale Rider, Aleman did a gudden there!! :thumb:
You could try my Elderfower Gold :thumb:

I'm far from experienced, but I've been thinking along the lines of MO and a touch of wheat malt say 90/10 hopped with mainly styrians and late hallertauer hersbrucker for some floral tones. Will probably try and culture some hopback yeast from crop circle for it. Not a recipe but what has been on my mind for summer ales. I'd like to put a bit of honey in there but I'm not sure how.

i brewed a simular brew to wez`s wezerection - great hop choice really full of flavour, its all gone :( so will have to brew another soon :thumb:

Hop back summer lightning is a great summer brew , Its in Grahams new book i'm sure some one has the recepie at hand.

Steve you need to do something more like

18 IBU Bobek - 90 Minutes
24 IBU Nelson Sauvin - 15 Minutes

And I'd probably go with 20g of Nelson Sauvin at 0 or an 80C steep. . . . . In Fact I'm thinking about doing this one tomorrow afternoon. Although I'm going to go for 1.050 from all pale malt and around 45IBU in total with25 IBU coming from the Nelson Sauvin for the last 15 minutes.

Ta for that, whats your thinking behind changing the hops about like this, is it because of what you learnt from the first batch? I came up with that hops bill from scaling your brew down with beer engine- so should it be the same as your first one?

Soory! Lots of questions from this newbie!

Steve

I've decided to up the IBU from the first time as I felt it could do with a more assertive bitterness. Moving the bittering from the 90 minute addition to the 15 minute one will really provide bags of NS Flavour as well, as its such a great flavour hop

ok how about this, keeping to nice round numbers-

Recipe Specifications
--------------------------
Batch Size: 25.00 L
Boil Size: 30.11 L
Estimated OG: 1.048 SG
Estimated Color: 8.9 EBC
Estimated IBU: 46.9 IBU
Brewhouse Efficiency: 75.00 %
Boil Time: 90 Minutes

Ingredients:
------------
Amount Item Type % or IBU
5.00 kg Pale Malt, Golden Promise (5.9 EBC) Grain 100.00 %
50.00 gm Bobek, Styrian Goldings [5.60 %] (90 min)Hops 30.0 IBU
75.00 gm Nelson Sauvin [5.00 %] (15 min) Hops 16.9 IBU
25.00 gm Nelson Sauvin [5.00 %] (0 min) (Aroma HopHops -
1 Pkgs Nottingham (Danstar #-) Yeast-Ale

This keep the NS price down to one 100g pack butr ups the IBUs and flavor hops somwhat? A decent compromise?

Steve
