Sacrilidge, I went and bought one of these kits after reading another thread. I just wanted something simple to get on the go as I won't have time for an AG brew for a week or 2.

I'm wondering what the OG and FG this will end up? The beer is 5.8% on the box but I don't like really strong beers preferring something around 4% so I'm wondering would it be OK to dilute this to get the strength down a bit?

There may well be some sugar in it to up the %, you could leave it out if so.

Edit: It's a 17 litre kit, so maybe not.

I'm not sure about watering it down, you'll lose flavour and bitterness, which may work ok, but I wouldn't be certain. Maybe stretch it to 20 litres?

I wrote up a review in the kit review section. SEE BELOW.

My kit went from 1.050 to 1.012. Possibly brewed a bit long going by the scale on the FV.

I think it's a great kit, have you got 330ml bottles? Drinking less of a stronger beer?

Good luck which ever option you go for.

So there's 650g of brewing sugar that could be left out. That'd take a chunk off the ABV.
