Have a go on photobucket you just upload you picture then copy and paste the img code thing its really easy :thumb:

Depends which browser you use... I only use Chrome :thumb:

Right click yer image and select 'inspect element'.
Copy the line that begins <img... ...jpg">
Paste it into another Chrome tab.
Remove the
color] bit at the beginning & the [color=
bit at the end. Paste the remainder inbetween the boxes when posting a reply.

I get the impression that Flickr doesn't want anybody to view [i]their[/i] images anywhere other than on [i]their[/i] website

Try using Fotki for image hosting (please don't use Photobucket!)

Flickr are being right sods - you used to click on Share, and you'd get a much bigger dropdown, and that would include the option to grab a link in either html or BB code - the BB one works best on forums.

interesting - in Firefox the right click just brings up a copyright notice!

I noticed that, If you right click on the page rather than the image you can choose to View page source then there is a line in there that starts <link rel="image_src" href=" . . . . . "> if you copy out the stuff (url) between the quotes in the href and then post it between the {img]{/img] tags you get

which is at least something . . . I also used Firebug in Firefox to get it by using the inspect element and delving into the div tags . . .but if you are not into web development it's not really an intuitive option . . . that gave me

I think flickr have a) decided to 'protect' copyright of images posted, b) reduce bandwidth usage from non flickr sites, c) just decided that they are not a photo sharing website any more.

It's for this reason among others that I decided that putting my images on my webspace gave me control on who gets to them and how I share them . . . Espcially as links on forums . . .although I have on one forum been told NOT to share a link but to post directly, different forums different ways.
