[Grey land foodsafe sanitiser is what I use diluted to 50/1 water and sanitiser so 10ml to 500ml and less than a fiver at a local food outlet and 5 litres into the bargain. 30 Seconds contact time..

Yesterday evening I got a batch of the Biermuncher's Centennial Blonde on, seems this is something of a legendary recipe over on hbt so figured I'd give it a go as a "crowd pleaser" for a family gathering we have in about a months time.

Quite similar to the Centennial IPA I did previously but with much less hops, I couldn't help myself and rounded up slightly on the hop additions, but otherwise stayed true to the recipe.

Be interesting to see how it turns out, if the Centennial/Cascade combo works well I'll probably re-do the IPA with the same (but more) hops, everyone who tried that one liked it! :cheers3:

Bottled up my Amarillo Pale attempt #2... four bottles into batching I realised I hadn’t primed ...
Whoops ...
Sugar Solution added and 43 bottles now in the ferm fridge conditioning.
Totally Tropical being brewed next weekend .

@Gerryjo thanks for that, I will look into it as I need something that has a low contact time or even no rinse. Do not want to make brew/bottle day into an all day event and a pain in the butt.

When I put the Bewitched Ale down, I noticed a drip coming from my Coopers F|V Snap Tap. I watched this and it all seemed OK after a bit, so I left it over night. The next morning, there was a puddle under the FV, so I put the wort into a pan and changed the snap tap. The tap and the pan were not steralised but I had to move fast. The brew has since started foaming and it seems like it is going all OK, but I am hoping that it will not go sour, only time will tell.

Simple lager. First in my short career. 4.2kg pilsner and M76 yeast. Also trying fermentasaurus, bday present from wifey.

First brewday of 2019, a simple English bitter, with just 3.8kg of malt, plus a bag of spraymalt that needed using up. Boiled for 90 mins, was aiming for 23l at 1.048, ended up with 22l at 1.054, calculated my efficiency to be 100%. I pitched with S-04, plus due to the higher than expected gravity, a slightly out of date pack of Muntons Gold.

Too many post-match interviews with soccer managers? Must have been a decent sized bag of spraymalt!

Normal 500g bag. I usually get efficiencies in the low to mid 90's, the trouble is some must be unfermentable, as I rarely get an FG below 1.020.

That's interesting, right enough. Obvious question is "Have you checked the calibration of the hydrometer?". Should read 1.000 for water at 20C.
