Just to get the ball rolling, I bought an 'all in one' kit, as recommended in a thread on here (where else?!). It's Woodforde's Headcracker - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231310646704 - and it's due to arrive this afternoon.

I'm working abroad for just over 2 weeks at the beginning of June, so my plan was to get it up and running just before I go, then bottle on my return. Any thoughts?

Too high a temp will ruin your beer (not trying to scare you) Ive only had two rotten brews, both in my shed and temp got up to 30 degrees, absolutely foul and gushers, it was a Better Brew Czech Pilsner and when I brewed it at correct temps it was miles better.
Get a second hand fridge or freezer and buy an ink bird controller for maybe £40 -£60 for both, without doubt the best thing Ive purchased for brewing by a country mile, you can even make decent lager and crash cool, anyway, good luck 👍
