I have not used Chinook in anything before so I'm wondering, since it seems that the main descriptions mention a piney taste, is there a piney after taste.

A couple of the local micro/craft brewers have a good tasting beer(as it's going down) but the after taste is, to me, quite objectionable. It is somewhat of a piney flavor but they won't tell me what variety of hops they use in that particular beer. Therefore before I try Chinook in my next batch of Porter I would like to know if it will give me that piney after taste.

It might not necessarily be a particular hop, it might be the way in which they are using them. Different addition techniques result in different levels and combinations of hop oils, all of which can create a huge array of different tasting beer.
